Each of my students have a fuzzy (pipe cleaner) hanging from their desks. I bought a container of beads from Wal-Mart (as well as the fuzzies). When students work hard, make good choices, or meet a challenge I have set for them, they earn beads. My reward system for the beads are:
10 beads - 5 M/M's
20 beads - 10 M/M's
30 beads - Small prize box, they get to take the fuzzy home with the beads, and a certificate!
My students have a hard time visualizing where they are and where the rewards are - so I put a number line up, had them color little people, and they move their person as they count beads each day after packing up!!!
